Social Group of the Deaf (SGD)
SGD is an official SADeaf social group which aims to promote a healthy lifestyle among the Deaf Community. It hopes to encourage the active participation of our Deaf members through various activities such as cycling, adventure trips and etc. It is open to the Deaf and Hard-of-hearing aged 21 and above.
Singapore Deaf Youth Section (SDYS)
Newly established in late 2014, SDYS aims to groom Deaf and Hard-of-hearing youth to be the future leaders of the community. For youths aged 18 to 35 it organises activities and outings, workshops and camps. If you love networking, socialising, are keen to enlarge social circles and are eager for fun and adventure, join us! Deaf, hard of hearing and hearing volunteers are welcome. But note only Deaf and hard-of-hearing youth can hold management positions in SDYS.
Igniters is a general volunteer group for SADeaf volunteers – whether Deaf/hard of hearing or hearing – of all ages (including the young and young at heart!). It helps organise events and activities for SADeaf’s clients in the community at large, including children, adults and elderly folks, and also lend a helping hand during fundraising and special events.
A song-signing performance group with both hearing and deaf members, Signifique was officially established under SADeaf in May 2009. Through song-signing, Signifique hopes to showcase the beauty, versatility and artistry of sign language. It also aims to increase public awareness of the Deaf in the visual performing arts field. Tuition and Enrichment Programme (TEP)
TEP is a joint project between the Singapore Association for the Deaf (SADeaf) and Nanyang Technological University Welfare Services Club Regular Service Project (NTU WSC RSP).
Since its inception in 1991, TEP is run and managed by dedicated undergraduate volunteers from NTU. Tuitions is held every Saturday at four tuition centres, Clementi, Kallang, Toa Payoh & Woodlands and the academic level of the current students ranges from kindergarten to post-tertiary level
Objective:
To provide a one-to-one tuition service to the deaf students pursuing their academic studies in the mainstream schools.
Admin & Event Support
To assist the Secretariat, fundraising or project team in administrative work or in organising events.
Specialised Skills
You are skilled in a certain field – such as editing/writing, the performing arts, sports, language, photography – and wish to offer your expertise to us. We have opportunities for you to be our journalists, event photographers, designers, instructors and more!
