Terms & Conditions

  1. I declare that the particulars stated above are true and correct to the best of my knowledge, and that I have not wilfully suppressed any material fact. I also understand that I am obligated to declare to The Singapore Association for the Deaf (SADeaf) any conflict of interest arising from my volunteer work.
  2. I fully understand, agree, and will adhere to the various measures and polices, including the Agreement set by SADeaf regarding safety during any activity.
  3. I consent to the use of my personal data for all purposes related to maintaining, updating and other administrative records in connection with my intent to join SADeaf as a volunteer.
  4. I have no objections for SADeaf to contact me by telephone or send messages via my mobile phone and/or email for the purpose of my volunteer work.
  5. I will only assist as a volunteer in SADeaf services and programmes and not carry our any personal activities such as sales, recruitment, etc or propagate messages pertaining to race and religion.

 I also agree to abide by the following conditions:

In participation with The Singapore Association for the Deaf (SADeaf) Volunteer Programme, I hereby accept and acknowledge the terms and conditions stated below of being a SADeaf Volunteer:

  1. I acknowledge and agree that my participation in SADeaf programmes is on a voluntary basis and that I have ascertained that risks may be inherent during my service and I hereby confirm that I voluntarily assume those risks;
  2. I agree and accept that SADeaf shall not be required to compensate me in monetary or alternatives, should I suffer any harm or loss whether directly / indirectly during my course of service. These shall include, physical harm such as illness, injury or death, harm to my reputation, or loss of or damage to personal property owned or used by me in the provision of my services;
  3. I will not seek legal action to claim against SADeaf, its officers, agents, volunteers, staff, and / or third parties who organised projects / events for any harm or loss suffered directly / indirectly by me during my term as a SADeaf Volunteer. I shall indemnify and hold SADeaf harmless against all claims / losses (including but no limited to medical expenses and etc), mishaps, accidents or injuries (including death) demands / actions / suits / proceedings / costs / expenses whatsoever in connection with loss of life, personal injury and / or damage to property, arising whether directly or indirectly, from my service as SADeaf Volunteer;
  4. I shall strictly adhere to the confidentiality of all information of SADeaf and its beneficiaries;
  5. I understand and agree that any images / pictures taken in relation (directly/indirectly) during my course of service, shall remain as the official property and in ownership of SADeaf. I will not reproduce, retransmit, disseminate, sell, distribute, broadcast, circulate or commercially exploit them in any manner without the prior consent of SADeaf;
  6. I understand that images, prints and information of programmes with SADeaf may be used for SADeaf’s promotional, publicity, fundraising or other purposes as SADeaf may deem fit. Unless otherwise specified, it is understood that any and all rights to proofs, final or sample prints, thereof shall remain the property of SADeaf. SADeaf shall not be liable for any claims on the misuse, misinterpretation or factual errors of the information used in part or whole;
  7. I will notify the appointed Executive (Development/Programme) immediately when situations or challenges occur in the course of my service with at least one week’s advance notice;
  8. I agree to wear the required identification (when applicable) when on official duty as a Volunteer;
  9. I understand that volunteers who are under 18 years old must seek parental/legal guardian’s approval for participating in any of SADeaf’s activities/programmes and will not hold SADeaf liable for any loss of belongings or injury sustained during the course of his/her voluntary work.
  10. I understand that SADeaf reserves the right to terminate my service as a SADeaf Volunteer if:
  • I am found to breach rules and regulations set forth in this Agreement
  • I am found abusing or harassing any parties I come in contact with through my service with SADeaf
  • I am charged for any criminal offence
  • Any other grounds deemed fit by the Executive (Development/Programme)
